Permanent Removal
Deleting an event permanently removes it from your dashboard, along with all associated RSVP data, guest information, and uploaded images. This action can't be undone, so JustInvite will ask you to confirm before proceeding.
Cancel First, Then Delete
Permanent deletion is only available for events that have been cancelled first. This two-step process is intentional — it prevents accidental data loss. Cancel the event (which notifies guests), then use the permanent delete option from the cancelled event's detail page. You'll see a confirmation dialog before anything is erased.
What Gets Deleted
Everything associated with the event is removed: the event details, all guest RSVPs, dietary notes, the hero image, and the invite link. The link will no longer work for anyone who has it. Important: permanent deletion does NOT send any notifications to guests — that's handled by the cancellation step before deletion.
When to Delete vs Cancel
Delete is best for draft events you no longer need, test events, or old events you want to clean up. For events where guests have already been invited, cancelling is usually the better choice — it notifies guests and preserves the record on your dashboard.
